Today we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by asking our people, clients and partners to reflect on the contributions that Indigenous people and culture have made to this country, and to also recognize the importance of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples in Canada. This day provides an opportunity for all of us to commemorate the harm that assimilation and residential schools have caused to Indigenous families and communities.
At McIntosh Perry, we strive to create an environment where all people are respected, valued, and can achieve their full potential. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. We are committed to use this day as an opportunity for reflection, education, and action.
Internally, we have provided our people with resources for education, as well as for celebrating Indigenous art, music, and culture. Externally, we have updated our office locations on our website to acknowledge the land, as well as updating our office locations map with land acknowledgements.
We ask everyone to take a moment to reflect on the history of the lands we occupy as well as how we can best move forward as a united country.
