Venture Seekers Welding, a fully operational welding facility, was informed by the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) that they required an Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) for their small Merrickville plant. McIntosh Perry was contracted to submit this ECA application on behalf of Venture Seekers. After a brief consultation, McIntosh Perry completed site-specific contaminant dispersion modeling for particulates, chromium, manganese, nickel, and iron stemming from on-site welding machines. Starting with only a sketch of the facility, McIntosh Perry used state-of-the-art AERMOD software to model concentrations of all parameters, which were found to be well under the applicable O. Reg. 419/05 criteria. Our easy-to-interpret concentration heat maps allowed Venture Seekers to ensure that they were not only protecting the health of their employees and neighbours, but also operating legally.
