McIntosh Perry completed a Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the Township of North Glengarry to address capacity issues with the Alexandria Sewage Lagoon System and plan for future growth within the municipality. The scope of the work included: completion of Phase 1-3 in the Municipal Class EA, October (2000 as amended in 2007 and 2011), which is approved under the Ontario EA Act, consultation with stakeholders, identifying and selecting of the technically preferred alternative solution and design for expanding the sewage lagoon as well as review of the natural-socio-economic background including field review and distribution of public notices/letters/newspaper and advertising and organizing Public Information Centers (PICS), evaluation of project impacts on the socio-economic, physical and biological resources, preparing preliminary concept designs and cost estimates. Consultation with interested stakeholders (public and agencies) was a key component in this project. Three PIC’s were held and provided the public with an opportunity to express any concerns and ask questions. The key external agencies/stakeholders included Raison River Conservation Authority (RRCA), MNRF, and MOECC. McIntosh Perry also hosted two Technical Advisory Committee meetings to discuss the conceptual design with MOECC, RRCA and MNRF.
