The City of Toronto (the City) is Canada’s most recognized urban city with a population of almost three million, along with many year-round tourists. With the high demands for sustainable infrastructure, the City must plan for its future needs. McIntosh Perry has been retained by the City to provide engineering consulting services for the pre-design, detailed design, preparation of tender documents, contract administration and postconstruction services for the structural rehabilitation of the Pottery Road Vehicular Bridges over the Don River (ID083).

McIntosh Perry is providing a full range of in-house services for this assignment, including Project Management, Structural Engineering, Environmental Services, Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Municipal Engineering, Designated Substance Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Topographical Survey, and Contract Administration services. The scope of work for this assignment included a detailed condition survey and a life-cycle analysis of the two structures. Based on this analysis, the Technically Preferred Alternative (TPA) alternative was selected. McIntosh Perry has provided the detailed design and preparation of the tender package. During construction, McIntosh Perry will provide Contract Administration, and Inspection services, while the design team will provide construction liaison.
