This project involved the engineering/design and installation of a sour gas plant in the Jayar area in Northwestern Alberta. McIntosh Perry provided complete engineering (mechanical/process/civil/electrical), project management, drafting, procurement and commissioning for this project from Pre-Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) through to completion.
The facility was designed to process 1,415 e3m3/d (50 MMSCFD) of sour inlet gas, associated sour hydrocarbon liquids, and produced water via a gathering system from area wellsites predominantly from the Montney formation.
Based on the potential for future well drills, the design included provisions to expand the facility to 2830 e3m3/d (100mmscfd) of inlet gas or higher. The facility was installed on an existing site and required integration with the existing on-site gas plant and oil battery facilities.
The gas plant design was based on processing the liquids rich gas received so that sweetened, dehydrated gas could be transmitted into the sales system that delivered to the existing downstream gas plant for further processing. The design also allowed for dry, sweetened sales condensate to be trucked out, produced water to be sent via pipeline to off-site water injection, and acid gas from the amine process to be flared. All required equipment was included in the design to achieve the sales specifications for both the gas, condensate, and the required parameters for water injection.
This equipment included inlet separation, compression, dehydration, stabilization, filtration, water injection and other utility pumps, vapour recovery, HP/LP/acid gas flaring, heat medium, fuel gas, E-House with MCC/PLC and on-site electrical generation.
