OEL Projects Ltd.Putting together backpacks, part of the McIntosh Perry family of companies, made a difference in the lives of 20 families over the holidays by collecting more than 500 donations for Calgary Mustard Seed.

The Mustard Seed helps people experiencing poverty and homelessness by providing them their basic needs such as shelter, food, clothing, hot showers and hygiene supplies. They offer services that help people make lasting life changes and integration into the wider community such as transportation, personal lockers, meal services, and bagged lunches for those that are employed.

The backpacks were filled with items that are specifically intended to help individuals and families looking to get back into the workforce including: gloves, toques, travel mugs, crossword/word game puzzles, flashlight, gift card, travel tissues, travel first-aid kit, transit tickets, hygiene items, and a Christmas card with a note of encouragement.

It only took the staff at OEL Projects Ltd. 10 days and 10 volunteers to build the backpacks, but the filled backpacks were delivered just in time for the holidays.

We continue to contribute and improve the communities we live and work in, it’s who we are. We are committed to making a difference. To read more about what drives us, please read our Core Values.
