Congratulations to Mehemed Delibasic, M.Sc., P.Eng., McIntosh Perry’s Assistant Vice President, Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering who was awarded the 2021 Ontario Traffic Council Transportation Planning Member of the Year Award.
Mehemed has been an active member of the Ontario Traffic Council (OTC) for over the last 15 years. He’s the new Transportation Planning Committee Co-Chair and has organized several workshops for the OTC that includes Environmental Assessments, Traffic Engineering and Safety, Transportation Planning, etc. For the last five years Mehemed was one of the instructors for the OTC Transportation Impact Study (TIS) Course and worked alongside two other committee members on the development of the OTC Advanced TIS Course which rolled out in May 2021.
He has presented at many past OTC and TAC conferences and is co-author of the “Road Safety Program and Data Needs Assessment (2015)“, prepared for the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers (CITE).
Mehemed has worked on a wide range of transportation projects including transportation master plans, transportation/traffic impact and safety studies, municipal and provincial class environmental assessments (EA), transportation demand and traffic management, transportation/urban planning and development application approvals, parking studies, transit projects, and preliminary and detailed highway/road design projects.
Mehemed is a long time advocate and volunteer in the engineering community and professional associations. In addition to his contribution to the OTC, he is a member of various engineering organizations – too many to list!
About The Award
The award was created to honour a OTC member for their their dedication, passion and hard work in transportation planning projects and initiatives, significant contributions to the OTC and to the transportation planning profession and for their outstanding volunteerism in advancing the mandate of the OTC. The award recipient has demonstrated leadership within the transportation planning field generally and is recognized and respected by industry peers as being a subject matter expert in transportation planning.
