We pride ourselves on contributing to the communities in which we live, work and play, and we have a long history of giving back. Making a difference is one of our core values and guides us in everything we do. Unfortunately, the COVID–19 pandemic limited our ability to give back this year. Our biggest charitable contribution comes from our client golf tournament, which was cancelled this past spring, and we couldn’t participate in charitable events as we usually do every year. However, we were able to donate to some of the organizations that we regularly support, including Hold’Em for Life, Shepherds of Good Hope Jingle, Calgary Mustard Seed and Signal Hill Rocks, which supports the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada.
Amidst the global pandemic, the most vulnerable among us have been affected the most. This summer, stories appeared in the media that reliance on food banks was at an all-time high. Across Ontario, food bank visits increased overall by 26.5% in first-time users between March and June of this year. Other provinces across the country saw similar increases in food bank visits.
We decided to do our part, or as we like to say, do the right thing. In lieu of client gifts this year, we made donations to food banks in cities across Canada. We’re doing our part to help those in need during this holiday season and we encourage our clients, partners and friends to do what they can. Below are links to the food banks we supported this year in each of the communities we serve. Happy Holidays from McIntosh Perry.
