McIntosh Perry News
McIntosh Perry recently supported a team assisting with reconstruction efforts in a town in the State of Mississippi which is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. Volunteers have been working on clean-up, repair and reconstruction projects in the community of Pass Christian, Mississippi for more than two years. Portions of this community were nearly completely destroyed by Katrina. To date, only about one-third of the population has returned.
During March 2008, the team that was financially supported by McIntosh Perry worked on two new home construction projects and several renovation projects for residents. New homes were constructed on piers between eight and ten feet in height over former slab-on-grade foundations. Renovations included new drywall as well as decking and exterior staircases to homes which survived the hurricane.
