Green Energy
Ontario’s commitment to the renewable and alternative energy systems has created opportunities for projects of varying sizes across the Province. McIntosh Perry has played a key role in a number of interesting Green Energy projects, on behalf of private interest as well as a review capacity for municipalities. These projects, like other forms of developments, require an interdisciplinary team of professionals to address infrastructure, environmental, and other design and constructions challenges.
We provide services to individuals, corporations and municipalities in a variety of fields associated with Green, or Alternative energy sources, such as solar, wind and small hydro-electric projects.
Over the years, we have prepared foundation designs for small wind turbines. In 2008, McIntosh Perry provided planning and engineering services to the Township of Frontenac Islands related to the review and construction of the Wolfe Island wind farm. We have assisted homeowners with structural evaluations for the installation of roof-mounted solar panels. In addition, we have coordinated development approvals for large scale solar energy projects and our surveyors have assisted with legal survey work and laying the panels in accordance with design plans.
